This game gets a 1 out of 10. (Very Bad)Basic hotkeys and ease of play are very low. AI needs much improvment (this game has a high learning curve due to little game play info given). Not recomended for casual player.. Best operational level wargame I've ever played. All other similar wargames are turned based with gridded maps, this is realtime.Try it out, it's free!. The games intended realism just makes it boring and uniteresting to play. Waiting 5 minutes for an infantry regiment to learn how to use a radio, then another to fire their guns is at best annoying and at worst infuriating. The manual is also not up to date, the UI and features have changed since they last updated it.. Probably the best battle simulator I played. The main "plus" is a competent AI (both friendly and enemy). The main "minus" is no tutorial or explanation. The graphics are minimalist--just enough to give you the info you need. The GUI takes some getting used to. And so the game is "hard work" ... but rewarding when your plans succeed. The player must study the map, study the Order of Battle, and consider how best to make use of time & space. The scenarios appear pricey, but you can be replaying them for years.. Just no...... Great wargame if not the greatest because it is real-time with pause or slow ability instead of turn-based. So no WinSPMBT. AI is handling orders great and so you can focus to micromanage one operation and leave rest for AI. You can play it either RTS way or Tactical Level. The menu or UI is somekind of scary at the beginning but after few battles you see how well it is done and it becomes intuitive. You can clearly see that this game was made by passionates with knowledge and experience in wargaming. The only downside is lack of information about tutorial on YouTube and direct link to manual in game folder. I fully recommend the game it if you want to see a close approximation how war operations are planned and executed in real life.. The game looks quite involved so I jumped straight into the tutorial, which much to my dismay didnt teach me anything or even do anything, I admit im pretty new to this type of game but my first experience has left me feeling prety dumb.As a fan of strategy games I would consider myself a target customer of sorts but this has put me off and I dont think it's unfair of me to expect a bit of hand holding at the start. If I am going to spend money on the game then I dont really want to spend ages reading a manual, it kinda takes me back to the Amstrad cpc 6128 days.I have gone tumbs up though as i like the principle and it would be unfair to judge it from just that.. i bought cauldron on 20July15 and have been playing since. Only played this ganme for a short while, but there appears to be good deal of detail under the hood. You can either micro manage your units or let the AI do its stuff to the point of just watching the battle unfold, or you can choose to manage at any level in between.
